I have looked up a lot of information on moving to Germnay because I am sick and bored of being in America, but all I hear is that it will be near impossible to find a job and a place to live as well as have a successful life. Also that if you are not fluent in the culture then you will not be accepted.

  1. Americans are not allowed to have workers visa there

If you have a education there you can live very well

Munich is a top 5 destination for living well

Beautiful city and only 70 kilometers from Salzburg, Austria

If you had invested in Euros in the 90's you could live there without a job.

  2. If you have a good contact over there you can try.

  3. The Germans are not near as accommodating for foreign languages as we are in the U.S. You would also have to get a work permit which is difficult to obtain since you are not a German citizen. It's not just a matter of choosing to move there. They may not allow it.

  4. forget about germany come over to the UK!

  5. I loved Germany!!!!!! but chances are you won't find employment, go for a trip, to Heidelberg. Airport is in Frankfort, then a train to Heidelberg. Try the small 'Hotel Central' in H.

People in large cities speak english, all young people do. However they don't hire Americans [unless you have your job ahead of time.]  Right now the $ is weak, you lose $ when you go to buy Euros, but Germany for a vacation is worth it, once there consider Bavaria just for the scenery, [s.e. Germany] apts. can be pricey but are very clean and pleasant.

  6. Have you thought about moving to a different country that may have more available for you? Once you find a country that you love, you could take lessons in the language and culture. My husband and I visited Europe this spring, we are currently educating ourselves like crazy so that we can comfortably summer in Prague Czech Republic every someodd years! Good luck on your decision. Ppl immagrate all the time. If this is somethingyou truely want to do then go for it!! (I live in northern British Columbia Canada and job postings are frequent, while available ppl aren't! You could check out Canada)

  7. America is a unique place for immigrants. No where else are they coddled and treated as well as we treat them. The exception maybe the UK.

Every where else in the world you are expected to conform and speak the language from day one.
