Question:

Starting to eat Raw?

I'm going to begin eating raw as of 20th Aug (giving myself preparation time to stock up on food etc)

Any tips for me?

I know it's about eating raw as much as I can, and not being too worried about slipping up but I'd really like some hints!

Anything you found you were craving?

I'm really going to miss eating meat but if I find that I'm really craving it I can eat organic meat.

  1. Hi, I recommend you join www.rawfoodtalk.com/index.php.  That board has helped me in my raw journey.  It's free to join and there are tons of people who can answer questions and share recipes :)

It's actually a lot easier than you think.  I've never had more energy in my life and I just got my blood test results back after being 100% raw for 8 months and I have perfect nutrient levels (yes, even protein) and I DO NOT do any vitamins/supplements. Just foods in their natural states.  Good luck to you!  It's a beautiful journey.

  2. I suggest that you prepare lots of raw veg and fruit ie carrot sticks, celery, apples , all your favorites and store them in the refrigerator so when you are having a craving, then you always have food at hand.

    Good luck ;-)

  3. You could try eating fresh tuna, that is delicious raw, but becareful when eating potatoes raw, they can be harmful if eating in excess. I love raw potato, but I limit that to a small amount.

You will find eating meals very boring if you stick to eating raw. Many vegetables are enhanced in the cooking so long as you don't overcook it.

  4. Are you trying to lose weight or stay healthy?

Some vegetables actually gain nutrients when cooked.

But if you want to eat raw foods, stick to fresh fruits and vegetables. All fruits are good to eat raw.

Some vegetables that taste decent raw include: romaine lettuce, iceberg lettuce, kale greens, spinach, baby soy plants, carrots, asparagus, etc

Raw red or white meat of any type is not recommended. Sushi/sashimi (raw fish and other seafood) is ok, but they have to be very fresh or you'll get food poisoning. Also, there is always the risk of getting parasites from eating raw fish (especially freshwater varieties), so eat at your own peril.
