Everyone says it´s never too late to start. But how about becoming one of the best? Is that possible if i´d start at this age? (i don´t intend to, i´m just curious)

  1. of course not!

if you put your heart into and really practice, then you can do anything you want (except if you want to fly etc....)

  2. true you'll be at a disadvantage compared to someone who started earlier in life because of the time lost for practice, but effort and dedication can help close that gap.

  3. Once you believe in yourself you can do it. Don't listen to everyone because one day when your become what you want, they'll regret saying that. It's not too late, you just need practice and dedicate yourself to it. I know how you feel cause I wanna become a singer and everyone always says the same thing to me, but just believe in yourself.

  4. As I understand it, at least in regards to 'world class pianists', it   doesn't matter what age you start at. The most important factor is how much you understand the craft and are able to adapt to the instrument.  Unfortunately, if this instrument doesn't come naturally to you, there is a strong possibility that it'll take you longer to achieve(if ever) this goal. Nevertheless, it's always important to stay in a positive frame of mind even if you feel disappointed in yourself and ultimately, lower your standards because if you do, you'll achieve some sense of worth even if you don't become a 'world class piantist'.

  5. Hi Dirrah.  I am going to make this short and sweet.  No it is never too late.. you already know that but did you know that world class pianists practice on the average of 8 hours (sometimes longer) a day  -  every day??  That is how they become world class.    People who have the dedication, desire and work ethic to train themselves with this strenuous schedule can begin at any age.   Most of us don't have it.. but the ones who do, are incredible!!!  Thanks for reading.:)

  6. If you do not have alot of natural talent, it is not likely because you are at a disadvantage being that you have less time to learn and more importantly you missed the portion of your life during which learneing such skills is easiest. That's not to say it's imposible though. If it is a dream of your's then chase it or you might regret it later in life.

  7. It all depends on just how motivated you are and how many hours a day... 24/7/365 you are willing to throw into the venture.  If you think you can do it with half an hour of practice every other day... then NO... you can't.. but if you are willing to put in 8 to 10 HOURS A DAY then you can get pretty good in a year... AND HIRE A TEACHER... you are never going to be a world class piano player if you learn for free of the internet... because it just doesn't work that way.
