I purchased Folk Art by Plaid acrylic glass paint. Everything that I have read suggests using and undercoat and an overcoat. What kind should I buy? And when I am doing a spuratic design do I use both all over? Will you be able to tell. Please help!

  1. I've been doing glass painting for a long time.  However I hardly use the Folk Art acrylic glass paint.  But as far as I know you only need to clean the glass surface with alcohol or water and vinegar.  Or soap and water will do too.  Then you can start painting.  If you want to protect you artwork you can put layer(s) of clear paint or clear varnish over the artwork.

Best is to try on glass bottles that can be found in the kitchen.     Try out the methods and see the paint effects before you do it on the beautiful glass piece.

Hope this is helpful.  Have fun creating.  Good luck.
