Question:

Starting to play Magic: The Gathering again...?

I just started playing again after 10 years off... Most of my cards are from the 5th ed./Tempest time... with a smattering of the sets before and after. Does anyone have any suggestions of good websites that might give me deck design suggestions? I do NOT plan on spending any money on the game anymore and just was curious if I could use what I have to goof off w/ my friends. Thanks...

  1. Well, mtgsalvation.com is pretty good. Also try the starcitygames.com forums for ideas.

  2. FindMagicCards.com

  3. try brainburst.com

  4. try http://www.starcitygames.com/

  5. www.magicthegathering.com

Check out the "Building on a Budget" decks for ideas.

    Other than that, check out:

    www.brainburst.com

    www.mtgsalvation.com

Finally, try out the theme decks.  The new theme decks are amazing at $10 each.

  6. Ahh the good old days!  5th and Tempest was when I really got into the game!  Then came Urza's Saga and Magic was at its peak then!!  There really hasn't been a better time to play then that time.

But with a collection of cards like that its always fun to just go to the magicthegathering.com archives and read articles about decks back then.  Or try to build one the Tempest Precons, those are always fun.

  7. try mtgfanatic.com

    or magicdeckvortex.com

if you are looking for deck ideas. mtgfanatic is a public forum where you can post your deck ideas or view other peoples.

also if you want too, you can download magic workstation at magicworkstation.com

you'll need to download the master sets and everything off of the website, but once  you do you can build decks on your computer with any card in the game, and you you can play with other people using magic workstation FOR FREE.

better than magic online in my opinion.
