Starting up a mug design business - any ideas for designs?

Hi everyone, my boyfriend is a designer and starting up his own business designing pictures and things to go on mugs. Any ideas for what would sell well? So far we have the Top Gear presenters and Friends characters, as well as teddy bears. Please help!
