I've been asked to look at a PC (with the K7VM4 motherboard) which wouldn't start up. Numerous attempts failed and I eventually reinstalled Windows after swapping the memory for some known working DIMMS (same spec) from a different PC.. All is then fine at this point. All Windows updates were installed fine etc. However, I swapped the memory back to confirm that it was at fault and the PC either got halfway through startup and restarted or came up with the blank screen everyone else describes. My query is that when I put the known working memory back in, the problem persists until I reinstall Windows again. If this is the case, I can't nail it down to a memory fault can I? Any other suggestions before I replace the M/B?
