Question:

Starving student...?

my parents no longer talk to me. im out on my own stuck in a pile of debt. and i ran out of all my scholarship money. im already working a full time job but still not getting by.

i know, the story of every college student...so someone help me. whats your story? and how did/are you getting by..any idea would help.

  1. I think that you should have some loans if you don't have any yet.  Someone loans don't have to be payed off until years after you graduate so try doing some research.   Try applying to other scholarships and explain your situation to the people working in Financial Aide and ask what you can do. Good luck.  Try to have a major that will give you a good job after you graduate...nursing, med tech, researcher etc

  3. Yeah that's a tough situation. Talk to your financial aid office and see what aid is available. If they say that you are a dependent of your parents, then ask them for a form to file an appeal. You may have to provide extensive documents and going through a headache of getting proof that you do not talk to you aka support you. The headache to me is worth it because if you're an independent student you can look for more need-based grants, scholarships and perhaps loans. Good luck.
