Its such a good deal that I feel compelled to giving in to their request. However I don't want to blindly trust some stranger with a possible copy of my ID. What should I do?

  1. maybe they do it, just incase the item you bought ends up being stolen..  they have a way to show authories who bought said item.   it sounds like they are trying to protect themselves from being accused of faulty business transactions.
