I've heard that Mr Darling our Chancellor made a change in the state Pension which meant that any additional Pension would be capped and no one would receive more than £6,500 PA regardless of their extra contributions. Any truth in this?

  1. SERPS (or whatever it's called now) has been mucked about with so much (and most UK citizens are so cynical of anything the Government says - especially about Pensions) that most expect very little or nothing out of it anyway ..

Those who could, 'opted out' of SERPS years ago ..

  2. Yes, but it is not the main state pension. SERPS now called the second state pension will be capped and paid at a base level for all who qualify for it. It will be benefical to the disabled and carers

  3. News to me.  It seems most unlikely.
