  2. A State Senator represents the people in his district in the

STATE LEGISLATURE. Theyt handle issues pretaining to

that state and his particular district. For instance how long

must the Public Schools in that state be open each year.

A State's 2 United States Senators represent the entire

state, at-large, on matters which involve not just the state but

the whole USA on the Federal, National, Government level.

Like approving a Presidential Nominee for becoming a

Federal Judge or ratifying, oking, a treaty with another

       country.

Remember we have 3 levels of Government:

    1. Federal -- Congress (House and Senate), they represent

         the Legislative Branch.

    2. The State Government---State Legislature-- They have an

upper house, The Senate, and a lower house, may be

called The House of Delegates or similar name. They

          handle state issues

    3. Local Government-either a city or county council. They

           handle local issues.

A state senator may be elected for just 4 years, depending

on the state. A US Senator has a 6 year term.

                    Hope that helps.
