when my husband retires at 65 and is eligible for the state pension does he get married mans allowance as i dont retire until 6 yrs later at 60.

  1. Your husband will get an adult dependency allowance for you until you are old enough to get either your own state pension, or else the married women's one based on his contributions if you haven't paid any. I assume you will be one of these unfortunate women who won't be able to get a pension at 60?

    This will count towards your husband's taxable income. When you are of pension age, and start getting a pension, he will lose the dependancy allowance.

    Tax-wise, the only married allowance is available to people born before 05/04/1935.


  2. Your husband will get his own pension according to his NI contributions and any SERPS, graduated pension and all the other types which have now disappeared. he wont get anything for you if you are working.

  3. No he gets his own pension based on his own national insurance record

  4. No married allowance was only paid to those born before  1935     but he will get adependents allowance for you  until youget your own pension
