Here is a link to the Michigan Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE)  Although I have not adopted, I have gotten information from this site.

If you are not familiar, there are a few things you should know.  There is training that is required before you can adopt.  Also, the state will do a background check and you will need a home study.  This process can take a long time:  9 months or more would not surprise me.

If you adopt from the state, an adoption subsidy could be available and the court fees would be minimal.  There is also medical available many times and help with college tuition.
