Why is one bridge called the Bayonne Bridge, another one is called the Goethals Bridge, yet the third one is called the Outerbridge Crossing? First one to get it right gets 10 points.

  1. The Bayonne Bridge connects Staten Island with Bayonne, NJ. The Goethals Bridge is named for Major George Goethals, who was one of the first engineers for the Port Authority (he also designed the Panama Canal). The Outerbridge Crossing is named for Eugenius Outerbridge, the first president of the Port Authority. It's called a crossing for simplicity's sake, rather than naming it the Outerbridge Bridge
