Station ID symbols, Banners, and pop-ups during shows?

These are incredibly distracting and annoying. Does anyone know of any current petitions to get these things off the screen?

I've never heard of one, but if there was I'd sign it.

I'd also like a choice when there's a special weather bulletin or news report.  Something like "Press A to continue watching regularly scheduled programming. Press B to switch to whatever we're breaking through with".

This spring I was watching LOST & only saw the 1st 3 minutes of it because they broke through to talk about a tornado in Virginia.... I'm in Ohio!
