Question:

Statistically, is a parking lot with a 45% angle-in parking safer than a 90% perpendicular to traffic flow?

It appears to me that a driver's rear visibility while backing out of a parking space would be better if he or she were looking backwards towards primarily one direction verses having to look backwards towards two directions assuming that the traffic flow is only in one direction per parking lane.

  1. 90 degree is better...............


  2. 45% angle in would be alot safer comparing it to 90% perpendicular to the traffis flow, this is common math..........

  3. I agree, in the UK they insist on 90 deg to increase the number of parking spaces, by about one per row. Not sensible. I would have thought safer.
