Statue of Limitations - TEXAS?

I applied to a job and they performed a background check. In this background check it came out that I have a charge for bad checks from 2001. The offense date is 10/31/01...the disposition date is 9/29/06. I just looked up the limitations on this and found ti to be 6 years. So...6 years from what? The offense date? Or the disposition date?

The limit is on the time between the offense date and the date the prosecutor brings charges against you.  Getting all the way to disposition of the case may take years, as your example shows.
