Statue of limitation s on a repod car in georgia?

I had a car repossed in georgia back in December 2002. What is the statue of limitation and any advise to answer the "law suit" thanks.

  1. Repos fall under UCC, which has a statute of limitations of 4 years. This 4 years begins on the date the vehicle was sold creating the deficency.

    If you're vehicle was repo'd in Dec 2002 and sold on Jan 15th 2003, they would have had until Jan 15, 2007 to file a suit for the repo.

  3. If they filed the suit withing the limits of the Statute of Limitations, then the requirement is met.  Sending you the notification and other paperwork can drag on a long time after that.  It depends on the court.
