Status On The Biggest Transfers
The transfer rumors have just started to heat up, with teams heading out for their pre season matches and deals expected to be finalized in a week or two. Here is a look at the biggest transfers and their current statuses.
The mother of all transfers has been the transfer of Arsenal captain, Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona. The he’s going, he isn’t going might finally be coming to a close with the clubs finally deciding on the he isn’t going anywhere status for the player. Wenger has shrugged off Barcelona by refusing to talk to them any further on the matter.
Fernando Torres may have won the World Cup with Spain, but it’s one that he would like to forget. He barely contributed to the team and spent the last minutes of the final game rolling on the floor. Chelsea have emerged to not be affected by this and are rumored to have tabled a bid estimated to be around fifty million pounds. Hodgson has said he isn’t going to let Torres go anywhere this summer and Ancelotti has said that Chelsea are in no need of strikers, but everyone knows transfer season is also known as opposite day, with everyone trying to throw the media off.
Since winning the Golden Ball, at the World Cup 2010, Forlan has become the Golden player every team wants. He is currently one of the hottest items on the transfer market with everyone wanting to sign him. Forlan has said that he wishes to stay with Athletico, but his opinions could change as soon as an outrageous offer is made for him from the likes of Manchester City and company.
Another player who out shone most at the World Cup this time around was German play maker, Mesut Ozil. Ozil was one of the best talents at the World Cup and the fact that he has just hit his twenties made his market price and demand sore even higher. Ozil is currently at Werder Bremen who have admitted that they are open to big money offers, which is a clear contradiction to their earlier statement which said that they were not looking to sell the player under any circumstance. Teams like Arsenal, United and Madrid are apparently all preparing their check books to sign the player and it’s going to be a race between them to see who sings him first.
The man beast, Nemanja Vidic has expressed that he has not been able to settle into Manchester, the reason being that he doesn’t like the weather there. That may sound like a stupid reason to some but then again who would want to tell Vidic that his opinion is stupid, unless someone’s on a death wish. The centre back has come under the radar of managers such as Jose Mourinho who have expressed their desire to have the player in their squad the coming season. Unlike most transfers this one will depend on what climate Vidic would like to play in.
