In Minnesota, the age for statutory rape is 16, unless the actor is in a position of authority, then it is 18. My question is, what exactly qualifies the actor to be in a position of authority? Examples?

  1. Someone who would have power over the victim or could have an ability to enact consequences if they didn't comply (not talking peer pressure).  Authority figures would be parents, teachers, clergy, bosses, coaches, etc.

  2. .  Actor in position of authority refers to a policeman or officer of the court.  Someone might feel like they had to submit to their authority.

  3. A parent,teacher,minister,coach,baby sitter.

  4. Yes.  A real adult doesn't have s*x with minors, and the manager should get fired.

What happens if manager and teenager break up?  Office romances are a VERY bad idea.

  5. Something like a teacher, policeman, boss at work etc.
