Hey. I was just wondering if anyone knew what language is spoken in the area of Switzerland that Staufen is located in. Also if anyone knows anything about this village, could you tell me a bit about it?

  1. Staufen is in the canton of Argovia, in the german speaking part of Switzerland. It is a very small village. The main attraction is the 'Staufberg' a wonderful little chapel on top of a hill - a must see place if you are in the region.

Very close by is the city of Lenzburg - nice village with a historical old part and of courrse the castle on the hill. Not sure if it is open for visitors or just functions - but still worth the walk up.

A bit further by car is the lake of Hallwyl, nice lake you can even swim in Summer ... or you can walk around the lake and relax in any of the nice local restaurants.

The castle of Hallwyl is another one to visit - it is a museum and open to public.

Or even Luzern is not too far and you have all the attractions there too...

    Enjoy

  2. We passed very near here on our way to Luzern on a business trip a few years back. The region speaks German for the most part, but english speakers should have no issues communicating in most circumstances.

The region is where the alps are at their best! If you get a chance you might want to stop by Luzern, one of the most beautiful cities I encountered in Europe. A huge beautiful lake nestled in the foothills of the alps.

  3. Staufen is in the canton Aargau in the German speaking part of Switzerland.
