Stay Thirsty hungry for success - Townviewfoods.com Champion Plate Semi-final at Shelbourne Park
Stay Thirsty is likely to quench his thirst for victory in the Townviewfoods.com Champion Plate Semi-final, to be held at Shelbourne Park this weekend. The black dog is running pretty well these days, but in defeat. So, he needs just a slice of luck to unchain
the shackles in today’s 550 yards race, getting underway at 21:30 (GMT).
After ending up third on three consecutive occasions, Royal Impact’s son raised his game to perform brilliantly at the end of last month. Since luck was not on side that day, he missed the crown by 1½ lengths.
After a decent effort, Stay Thirsty’s confidence is at a high. Hence, one can expect him to take an outstanding start and stay in the front row right through the race. The dashing hound, however, will have to be at his best all the way through in order to
dominate the proceedings.
He is going to face a star-studded line-up. Among his opponents are: Ballybough Hawke, Barefoot Duke, Tyrur Sugar Ray, Razldazl Luke and Swift Marathon. The open race holds a cash prize of €100, which will go straight into pocket of the ultimate champion.
Ballybough Hawke is going through an unlucky spell. The black dog narrowly missed the first prize in his last two appearances. So, he needs to put his best foot forward in an attempt to trouble the judge.
Barefoot Duke’s recent efforts show that he is not in good form these days. So, it would be a foolish move to trust him blindly tonight. Tyrur Sugar Ray is yet to find consistency at this level. He often runs well, but does not add a finishing touch.
Razldazl Luke was runner-up last time around. D. Ruth’s trainee fell second by one and a half lengths. Swift Marathon is stepping into this battle after an excellent win. However, he will have to come up with an improved work to win a race of this nature.
According to our calculations, Stay Thirsty will be able to put his rivals under pressure, if he gives his best shot early on. Swift Marathon will make his journey a lot problematic though. Good luck to all the runners.
