Possibly, but this might just be a temporary reprieve. Portsmouth have been given a nine-day adjournment, but the club has been told to produce a statement of affairs explaining its full financial details. Portsmouth owes a VAT bill of £7.4m, as well as £4.7m in unpaid Paye and National Insurance contributions which were not part of today's court case. Portsmouth could still extricate themselves from their problems if they pay the full outstanding amount, of course.
