  1. If i were you i would stay in a resort. Because its a vacation. they're for relaxing. and the best place to do that is at a lavish resort not your friends house =p.

here is one good site i know of that have good and low rates for all types of travel, including resorts.

    www.ytbtravel.com/yonne41

  2. if you really want to know jamrock  go to Tivoli Gardens it is safe its the home of Passa Passa, from there you could visit any where else in Jamaica you want to places where the resorts won't let you see. you will see and meet real people you will learn to speak patios (patwah) in no time you will savor real authentic Jamaican dishes from the people who knows them best, real curry chicken, real curried goat, real stewed peas, fish tea, manish water, roots,  potato pudding, coconut cakes, the works just ask for it you'll get it. there are markets close by where you can get our fresh fruits and vegetables, there is also a craft market . you will see some of the best dances ever, cultural, contemporary, dance hall...... IF..... you're there and not pleased you can always go to a resort in Negril or Montego Bay or Ocho Rios... but i don't think you will, see you at passa passa. you will be Jamaicanized One Love.

  3. resorts r madddd  nice there

  4. First ting how much money u have to spend

    if you have mad money

spend a weekend in an all inclusive and chill out in Tivoli for the rest of the time... and tour the island using it as your base!!

    If you have limited resources...

stay in Tivoli and get a day pass at a resort.  that way u have money to buy stuff... rent a car and tour and buy a bassy outfit for passa passa and get your hair done so you can look like a hot girl

(or will you do all that is foreign??) and get a nice spa day in before you go home because trust me... jamaica do it the best!!... nirvana a seh one!!!

at the end of the day... try to have the best of both worlds. Because its your time and though u want to be pampered... nothing is like staying with family... i mean... they dont let u eat out of the pot at all inclusives... and there is no vibes music... unless u stick it out at the security post... everythng have a techno beat underneath it!! wtf!

As for safety... with family and friends u are safe as anywhere... Tivoli probably safer than halfmoon hotel!  I dont know the things stingjam know (respc stingjam)  but i been to tivoli and never see nothing to be afraid of as far as im concerned only people in mixup get mixed up!!

Just be as smart as you would be in italy or beligium (dem rob mi draaas inna belgium cus mee like a fool a gwaan like me in a jamdown and tek mi eye off mi bag fi TWO seconds... to raaas! ) and you will have A LOVELY DAY

    LOVELY DAY

    LOVELY DAY

    LOVELY DAY

    LOVE LEE  DAY!

    :)

  5. It depends on what you WANT from a vacation.

Tivoli Gardens is a the HEART of the underworld in Jamaica. In fact they have been the heart of many international organizations such as the notorious 'shower posse'.

Scared? Don't be. Virtually NOTHING happens in Tivoli without the "President's" approval. If anybody harms you they will meet punishment quicker than anywhere else in the WORLD. Its as if Tivoli has its own underworld justice system. There is a high level of discipline and order. The streets are cleaner than many other parts of Kingston. Young men walk with guns, but its not wild west. Not even cel phone theft is taken lightly.

There is passa passa event every Wednesday, and many other regular events. If your friend is a 'high roller' you could also be going with them to any other events in Kingston or even as far as negril....You will NOT be touched. There is a high level of respect for 'dons' of Tivoli.

    ON THE OTHER HAND

If you are not interested in experiencing the "Jamaican ghetto fab", you might want to go to a resort. This will be a pricey experience, but it will be more like the Jamaica that most tourists come here for!

Keep in mind that in Kingston there are mostly business hotels (not resorts).

Note also that living NEAR tivoli and IN tivoli is two different things. just one block outside of tivoli gardens could be the complete opposite.

  6. Yo Trini chick, wha go on?

Listen, I am not one for all-inclusive, but I had a blast of a time staying at one in Negril... I would do it again if I ever went back.

So yuh know wha ah coming from......
