I am 22 years old and I was wondering if there will be many people my age there. Also, I don't speak Italian very well so I am curious as to whether or not I will be able to find people who speak English.

Thank you for your help!

  1. Sun, sea, nice villages and harbours, beautiful trips on boat to visit around Loano, food, food, and I'd say even .... food, wine, beer, ice creams, pizza and very sweet 'sweets', 'pasta al pesto', 'frittura di calamari or gamberi', and ratatatatatatata.....Ladies and Gentlemen: Here you are > A LOT OF BOYS < (we say 'mosconi', blue-bottles, suiters) that they'll fly around you as you are like a taste of honey, day and night!!!

English, that is no problem for an Italian, many of us speak a near good English, other four or five words (the most important words!), about the other not speaking English, we naturally have a good language, that is gesture.... it's international. Have a good holiday!

PS - An Italian doesn't look at the age. We always fall in love, it's enough to be a woman!

  2. You're lucky today: I live in Albenga just 8Km from Loano and a lot of people from Loano attend my school.

Well, loano is not such a big city but during the summer you can find there all you need. There is plenty of people of your age because Loano ( along with borghetto-pietra ligure-albenga-alassio) is a  well-known seaside resort in Italy but you can also find many english and german people. Furthermore turists from Po Valley have houses in these cities and population in the summer can easily quadruple!

There are a lot of pubs, restaurants, pizzerie... it's very difficult not to meet people here. If you want to go to the disco you can go to Alassio (I think that the beach is better in Alassio than in Loano) or Laigueglia... (La suerte / La Capannina). The main street in Loano is called " Caruggio " and you can find there shops etc even if I assure you It'll be very very crowded.

It is not difficult to find people who speak english even though it depends on the person you are talking to. Studying english in compulsory in schools her in Italy but not everyone can speak it fluently. Adult people and old people often don't understand english because you should know that about thirty-fourty years ago the language studied at school was french not english...

I am sure you will enjoy Loano... have a lot of fun!

For further information don't hesitate...just ask me

  3. Loano is in Italian Riviera , near French Riviera .

It's a nice town. In winter this town is crowded by old people in search of mild weather . In summer there are young people too, but not too many. Enjoy your time here in Italy. Bye
