In the latest Russian Premier League encounter, FC Tom Tomsk suffered yet another 2-0 defeat against Rubin Kazan at Trud Stadium.
The care taking head coach, Sergei Perednya, has revealed his dissatisfaction on the series of bad results and hoped to lead his team out of the relegation zone as quickly as possible.
The Siberians are currently at the bottom of the league table, in desperate need of points to jump out of the drop zone. Perednya lamented the series of laggard performances by his team and urged the Asians to claim maximum points in the remaining matches
of the season.
Perednya has temporary filled the managerial position, after the departure of previous manager, Valery Nepomniachi. The former coach was forced to resign after some unacceptable team results in the league – just a point from their previous 9 fixtures.
The former FC Volga Nizhny Novgorod manager admitted that the White-Greens are battling hard for their survival in the Russian Premier League and promised the fans to alter the critical situation at the Russian club.
“In the first half, it worked. In the second half we were not the best. After missing a goal, the guys were frustrated and they were lacking confidence. We will work to regain the good results.” The acting head coach said in his post match press conference.
Perednya highlighted that he keeps a watchful eye on the young players and highlighted Kirill Pogrebnyak as his hottest property. The former FC Timiryazevec Moscow marked his debut for the Asians against Metallurg-Oskol in the Russian Cup.
“Pogrebnyak is young and talented; we will continue to give him more time on the pitch. Hopefully, he will score the first goal under my leadership. We need to adapt to the offensive style of play more quickly. ” The former FC Khimik tactician went on.
Tomsk would be heading to the Lokomotiv stadium when they take on Lokomotiv Moscow in the upcoming league encounter.
