Staying overnight in chennai airport?

Question

Is it allowed by the airport and safe? My flight reaches at midnight and I don't want to venture alone in a new town by myself. Can someone please advise?

Yes it is perfectly safe but there is hardly any place for you to stretch your legs.

If you are in the baggage area, you can ask for the airport manager who can guide you to the lounges but I have not seen any lounges in the arrival section.

If you have boarding pass for the next flight, suggest the following:-

1. Come out of the arrival section of the airport and walk right towards the departure section. It is hardly 200 metres,well lit and safe.

2. Avoid speaking to any Auto, taxi wallas.

3. Show your boarding pass, get inside the airport.

4. Check in your baggages, clear immigration and take the escalator.

5. There you will see a sea of seats where you can even strech and sleep. A small pantry will take care of your food needs.

6. Alternatively ask a Lounge helper if you can use their services for a nominal fee.
