i want to get tested for std's

but am dreading a swab

can't i have a urine test instead

and blood test

Please note that viral STDs (Hepatitis, Herpes simplex, HIV/AIDS, HPV/ warts) can not be cured but it can be controlled. Vaginal discharge, if any,  may also be got examined in a clinical laboratory.

Some STD test are with blood but most are from a PAP or from the swab. Don't be scared. It's really not that big of a deal. It better to be tested then to just ignore it. Good Luck!

if you are having a full std check, you will need to have a swab test as well as a blood and urine test.  it's fairly straightforward and pain free...just a little uncomfortable for a few seconds.

if your dreading it due to being embarrassed then dont be... dont forget they are looking down there all day! its their job lol

its better to get tested and be safe than end up with a nasty std that could affect your fertility or cause other problems!

so dont worry and go get checked properly :-)

Some they can find with a blood test but to be fully checked you need a swab. Sorry hun.

they can find some test results from blood or urine but for the others u need a swab if u are worried about this u buy can buy do it urself kits n chemists or online they are not cheap tho. But u will need a swab wen u have a smear test so i would just have one. they are not as bad as they seem just weird the first time trust me. U can also request a female dr which is a gud idea if ur female and nervous. Good luck with wateva u decide x

To get accurate results you need all 3 I am afraid! Blood, urine and swabs.

Why are you scared of a swab? Easier than giving blood if you ask me! Either way, all STD's should be able to be detected through blood and urine....but is that really all that important? If you have to get a swab suck it up. If you have an STD and its curable, wouldn't you rather know now them having it hurt you int he long run?
