I need a marinade for a chuck steak. All that I have on hand is Yellow Mustard, Vegetable Oil, Bar-B-Que Sauce, and spices.

Please help. Is there any way to make a marinade out of all this

  1. Any liquids can be made into a marinade, just like any dry spices can be used as a rub.  It all depends on your personal taste.

For chuck steak, I would put the items you mentioned in a pot, with a little water to thin it out.  Add the spices to the mix as well.  You are trying to blend the flavors by heating them together.  When you have the tase you want, chill the mixture, place in a ziploc bag, and add the meat.  If you have a vaccum food sealer, that works much better, because the vaccum pulls the liquid into the meat

  2. If you had some vinegar or soy sauce(something acidic)...mix a little oil, vinegar, bbq sauce and soy sauce...DONE!

  3. Crushed Garlic, Honey, Soy sauce and marinade as long as you can preferably overnight

  4. It would have to depend on what spices.

Add one part mustard to 4 parts BBQ sauce.

For example: 1 cup bbq sauce, 1/4 cup mustard.

Blend spices like salt, pepper, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, and maybe a dried chipotle if its out there.

Set up an assembly line. A bowl with your spices. And a bowl with the mustard and bbq sauce.

Take steak and dip in bowl of spices. Creating a light coating. Dip in mustard/bbq sauce. Then dip once more in spices.  Set in container.

Do the same to all steaks. Let it set in refridgerator in a closed container for a few hours.

Then take them out. Grill'em up!
