Hi, my parents left on a vacation for 3 weeks and I have the house to myself for the next 2 weeks, it's been a week already. I found 6 steaks in the freezer but I don't know how to work the barbeque (it's this crazy fancy one) and I was wondering if you guys could give me some steak recipes that I could do with an oven. If you could send me some links to a website that would be great too!!!

So in other words... I'm hungry... :-( and steaks are pretty much the source of real food that's left in the house. I can't eat fast food because I get really bad headaches and stuff, because I never was big on fast food so my body isn't used to it.

So please help!!!

  3. Hold up you hand and poke the ball like muscle at the base of your palm its under your thumb,

the feeling of the muscle there is same what a steak should be like before cooking,

then move your thumb so it is touching you middle finger and poke the muscle again this is what well-done(cooked) or stewing steak(uncooked) should feel like if the steaks are more tender then this they are grilling steaks if the steak are as tough or tougher then this they are stewing steaks.

Well to see if you have stewing steak or normal steak un freeze the steaks once un frozen poke them.

Steaks use the others peoples for steaks if they are grilling types,

if they are stewing steaks then do something like this

    STEWED STEAK

1 1/2 to 2 lb. chuck, flank, rib steak, cut up

    Flour for dredging

    3 tbsp. oil

1 lg. onion, cut into lg. bite size pieces

    1 carrot, diced

    1 c. diced celery

    1 green pepper, diced

1 c. stewed tomatoes, diced or 1 can diced

    1 tbsp. vinegar

    1 tbsp. brown sugar

    Hot water to cover

    Fresh parsley for garnish; chopped

Cut steak into serving portions and dredge with flour.

Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in deep pot, add steak and fry 3-5 minutes on each side. Add vegetables, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and water to cover.

Cover and cook over moderate heat 20 minutes. Stir, and reduce heat to simmer for 15 minutes, uncovered.

Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve with piping hot bread or rolls.

  4. i don't know  what kind of steak you have

here is a good and easy recipe for Round Steak:

    2-3 lb round steak

package of dried onion soup mix

put the meat on a sheet of aluminum foil large enough to wrap in

sprinkle onion-soup mix on top of steak..plus garlic..or steak seasoning of choice

fold foil over all..leave some breathing space, okay

    put in baking pan

my recipe says at 300 for 3 hours....you can do 375..for an hour/hour and a half..depending on the steak's thickness

you can add cut-up potatoes and carrots an hour before the meat is done..but check the meat

an instant-read thermometer is needed here

  5. You will need to identify them. Some steaks require long slow cooking, as in stews, whilst others cook quickly 3-4 minutes each side.

  6. I often cook steaks on the stove top in a cast iron skillet.  I season the steaks on both sides with salt and pepper and olive oil.  While the steak cooks, I saute peppers and onions alongside it.  Top with your favorite bbq sauce if you like.  Don't forget the baked potato!
