Question:

Steam Account Hijacked...?

by  |  earlier

I quit playing steam games for quite a while, and I was gonna start back yesterday. Well when I tried logging on, it kept saying my password was wrong. Well, I tried doing the forgot password thing and it said that it would send me an email. But for some strange reason, I never recieved the email. I tried it agian multiple times, and still I didn't recieve it. Was my steam account hijacked? I haven't downloaded any programs, or gone to any suspicious websites. Should I post a question on the steam support page? Thanks!

  1. YEA YOU PROBABLY GOT HACKED , YEA POST A QUESTION ON STEAM

  2. haha good old Steam always getting screwed up :P

I guess you are just gonna have to ask on the support page. It IS a possibility that it got hacked, but hope not.

EDIT: the account wouldn't be deleted as being inactive since you bought the games that were in the account...they just couldn't do that. Plus, some of my friends weren't on their account for over a year and their accounts weren't deleted

suggestion: make  a new account and add your old account as a friend to "spy" on your old account and see if it's being used (like when it says "last online ___ days"

  3. Check your security settings, some firewalls and other security programs won't let the e-mail get to your inbox. check the mail antivirus settings lower the security level and try again.

  4. maybe they deleted your account as being inactive?

  5. They probably did get your password. I know lots of hackers out there are really good at stealing steam account passwords... just contact Steam and tell them whats up.
