Steam Flat Irons or Wet-Dry?

Question

I have VERY thick hair that's just wavy enough to be annoying. My 2 main goals for a straightening iron would be: 1- hair stays sleek/straight all day and 2- does as little damage to my hair as possible.

I've had a Chi for years and it's ok, but doesn't stay as straight as I would like. Has anyone tried the new steam flat irons?

Would the wet-dry irons possibly accomplish the same thing but save me the blow drying?

..... or is the Chi Turbo I have now really the best there is out there?

I also have wavy hair and i straighten it all the time. I like to straighten my hair when its only a little wet, or damp i guess. But i straighten it in parts. not all at once or it does not straighten well. This morning i straightened my hair and it has stayed as straight as i made it this morning.

So i recommend

•trying to straighten it whens it damp

•straightening small parts at once

•and brush it after and before straightening
