Question:

Steam cleaning worm from dog?

A dog with worms visited my house and scooted across the carpet. I want to steam clean it, but I don't want to contaminate my steam cleaner or somehow keep the infection inside of it or in my sink. What do you think?

  1. Parasites can't live outside of it's host...Generally dogs get worms from eating or ingesting fleas, or just l*****g something nasty. But anyway, the worms die as soon as they come out of the anal region. Believe me, they do! And they won't infect your steam cleaner or sink...Hello! Sinks have drains. Just use clorox in your sink to get rid of germs, if that's what is worrying you.

You should beable to remove the container from the steam cleaner and empty/clean it out. Anyway. Hope this helps!

  2. Worms usually die once the leave their host.

I would get it professionally cleaned & send them the bill.

  3. The first thing I would do is ask the owner of the wormy dog why he had the dog in my house to begin with. But, after that I would go and rent a shampooer and clean all of your carpet. If the dog has worms than just because it didn't scoot all over your house doesn't mean that there weren't worms on the fur on the outside that might have fallen off as he walked though your house. You can go to a pet store and buy a bottle of puppy dewormer and put in the water of the shampooer. It shouldn't have any smell to it but, if you fine that there is a smell that you can smell put a little pine cleaner in with it so you smell the pine and nothing else.
