Steamboat questions???

does any one know if the delta queen will still operate in 2008 and beyond? i found 10 sites in google and found the same ones on yahoo but i do not know nor can i find if the steam boat will be allowed to operate after this year. it has something to do with fire safety and it's age. what a sad loss if the boat can no longer operate.

It's all about being a wood boat & having passengers sleeping in staterooms ( against US regs). Was grandfathered previously.

yes their 10 year permit is up and nobody is sure if it will be renewed, yes its for safty reasons
