  4. brown sauce

  5. try to use vegan sauces....

a mushroom sauce ( fake oyster sauce)

  6. My favorite combination is basil, lemon juice (or zest), and garlic. You can toss this into steamed veggies for a very happy result. (It's also GREAT on sautéed vegetables or tossed spinach noodles.)

    Other flavor-enhancers include:

    Balsamic vinegar (bliss!)

    Dried cranberries or sun-dried tomatoes

Sliced fresh fruit or nuts (you can use mangoes, strawberries, walnuts, cashews, etc. to make interesting sweet-sour or creamy-crunch combinations)

A tiny squirt of prepared mustard (A little goes a long way. You can also add this to the basil/lemon/garlic recipe above for a little added zing)

    Orange juice (or zest)

Just a hint of FRESHLY-GRATED Parmesan cheese (a little can give a huge effect)

Poppy seeds (deliciously nutty and crunchy)

    Sesame seeds

Soy sauce (if you're okay with the sodium)

  7. I add herbs and spices to the water which infuse into the veggies. Absolutely delicious! I was totally surprised when I tried it at how very good it was.

  8. My hubby loves soy sauce on his steamed broccoli.  A drizzle of olive oil and a squirt of lemon juice is good too.

  9. try oyster sauce. not too much though! good for asian vege like bokchoy.

  10. a dash of salt or lime -the taste of the veggies is perfect they way they were made!!

  11. If you use a wok and a bamboo steamer, you get this subtle but very nice bamboo sort of flavour.

  12. I steam my veggies with veggie broth and then toss it with a little seasoned salt and crushed garlic.

  13. I always add some sea salt, ground pepper, garlic powder and a little olive oil. Sometimes I'll add some lemon juice, too.

    It's awesome.

  14. on mine i put butter (sorry its what i put) and a few drops organic soy sauce. i do this to my brocolli and mmmmmm it is soooooo delicious  (you can get reduced sodium organic soy sauce)
