The 32-year-old has expressed his delight after making his debut for Olympique Lyonnais in the 2012/2013 season
The attacking midfielder ended his ten-year stay in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 after Les Gones provided him with an opportunity to return to Stade de Gerland.
The Belgian, who spent four seasons with Lyon from 1997 to 2001 before moving to Fulham, put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the Rhone giants.
And the former Fulham man played a superb game against Valenciennes on his return to Lyon.
While talking to reporters, Malbranque said that it feels great to be back on the pitch and he is satisfied with his personal performance against VA. However, the 32-year-old said that Les Gones managed to get all three points from that game and that’s the
important part.
“Personally, on the pitch, I felt great but the most important thing wasn't my own performance; the fact that we won the match takes precedence."
The former Spurs player said that he is thankful for the bosses at the club for showing faith in his abilities, and has vowed to help the Ligue 1 outfit win their objectives this season.
Malbranque stated that he is off to a good start in the league but he is not stopping there. The 32-year-old has vowed to bring more improvement in his game in order to cement a regular place in Remi Garde’s starting eleven.
“It's true that I'm very happy to be back at Gerland and to have put in a good showing in my first match, but it's just one match and I can't afford to stop there."

“Sure, people might have their doubts after I was out for a year, but I know that I didn't stop completely, and I'm happy because I think I'm up to the challenge and not in bad physical shape."
