Steele just short on the FedEx list
The players have tried their best to bag as many points as they can for the FedEx Cup. Golfers and fans have been long waiting for it to start and we are almost there. The first round of the FedEx Cup which is Barclays starts in a week.
It is one of the biggest events of the year, as the biggest names in the world of golf are going head to head for glory.
The fans of the game are definitely going to get their money’s worth on this one. In a week, the 125 top players are going to appear in the playoffs and are going to try to qualify for the next round.
The points start counting just after the FedEx Cup of previous year is over. The Wyndham Championship is going to be the last tournament in which the points will add to the FedEx points.
One of the players who are just short on points to qualify for the FedEx Cup is Brendan Steele. Steele is on the 126th spot, just one spot behind. He needs a few more points to qualify this year.
“I'm one of the guys who my money list number is a lot better than my FedEx Cup number,” Steele said today at Sedgefield Country Club. “That's always kind of aggravating. It's a little bit frustrating but it is what it is”.
Steele will be participating in the Wyndham to make sure he makes the last spot. The tournament starts from the 16th of August and after four days, it ends on the 19th of August.
This is the last chance for the American professional golfer.
Currently for the FedEx Cup 2012, the 14 time major winner Tiger Woods is on top of the table as he had 3 wins and has a total of 2,269.24 points.
Woods is just followed by the recent U.S PGA winner Rory McIlroy. The third position is again occupied by another American professional golfer Jason Dufner.
This is going to a very exciting tournament, filled with drama and action as the best in the world gather a t one stage.
