Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger apparently being impressed by the performance of Cincinnati Bengals rookie quarterback Andrew Gregory Dalton known as Andy Dalton has backed him to be the rookie of the year.
Ben Roethlisberger known as Big Ben in the American football said that Bengals’ player should be recognized for his turnaround.
"Right now I think, and I don't know how the talk is, but he's rookie of the year," Roethlisberger said on Wednesday. "I think he's that good of a quarterback."
He said that Dalton's performance in Bengals game against the Cleveland Browns in the week 10 of current National Football League (NFL) season was very impressive.
The Bengals had gone down 14-0 in the game against the Browns. However, living up to their ability and reputation of staging a comeback in later part of a game, they turned around the game to tie position at 17-17. The rookie Andy
Dalton had been instrumental in the turnaround. He is in Big Ben's good book since then.
"He does (things) that you just don't see or expect from rookie quarterbacks," Roethlisberger said. "In college you can wait for guys to get open and throw it, (but) he throws it before guys are coming out of their breaks, before
guys are getting into their holes, as he's getting pressured."
Andy Dalton performance included completion of 60.1 per cent of his passes. This is for total 2509 yards. He also has 16 touchdowns and 12 picks to his credit.
Dalton was the second round pick for the Cincinnati Bengals in NFL draft season 2011. He stood at 35 overall in the league. He was included in Bengals' side under a four-year deal. The contract was worth $5.2 million.
Before joining the Bengals' Dalton had played college football from the Texan Christian University.
Big Ben’s encourage remarks for the young Dalton comes on about eve of the Cincinnati Bengals game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both teams are playing each other in one the crucial ties in the American Football Conference (AFC)
north division. It would be seen how Dalton performance in his next game.
