Stefan Bradl apologises to his team and fans due to his crash at the Aragon circuit – MotoGP news
Stefan Bradl of LCR Honda MotoGP crashed in the 5th lap of the Spanish Grand Prix because he lost grip in the front tyre of the bike.
The crash resulted in his retirement from the race however he remained safe. He crashed after overtaking Ben Spies of Yamaha Factory Racing while he was trying to push hard to attain lead over the Yamaha rider.
The LCR Honda MotoGP driver remained speechless after his crash in lap five of the Spanish Grand Prix. He was at the 3rd position when he lost grip in the front tyre of his bike. He told that he was feeling good with his bike and the incident leaves him
disappointed. They were performing impressively in the first five laps.
Bradl said, “Well…it’s difficult to find the right word for me because we are all very disappointed but this is racing. My feeling out there was very good today: good overall package, good start and good firsts laps.”
He told that he was feeling comfortable with the braking of his bike therefore he decided to push hard early in the race because he thought that he would not be able to push hard once the tyres wore out. In trying to achieve improved speed he lost the grip
and crashed. He anticipates that he was too aggressive in pushing the bike.
“I felt very comfortable on braking and then I noticed I could go as fast as guys like Spies and Crutchlow so I wanted to push immediately because I knew that the rear tyre would have dropped towards the end of the race,” he added.
Bradl apologised his team and fans due to the incident which happened on the Aragon circuit. He is looking forward to the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix scheduled on October 14, 2012.
The crash at the Spanish GP was the second incident when he was not able to complete the race he had started, in the current 2012 season. He started the race at the 5th grid while in the Italian Grand Prix he was able to finish the race at the 6th position.
