Stefan Struve believes he is not a boy anymore – UFC News
While most UFC fans still take him as a young fighter who is still in the learning phase, Stefan Struve asserts he has done it all. In an interview with FUEL TV, Struve insisted that after spending years in the industry, he feels he is no longer a boy among
men.
“It's everything together, all the experience I've gotten from all the years of fighting in the UFC and before that,” said Stefan Struve. “I'm 24-years-old now, I'm not a boy amongst men anymore, I don't feel like that anymore. I'm really one of the bigger
guys and all that together just makes me so confident that I can just beat anybody in the world right now.”
“I think we're both around the top 10 and a win will definitely, as Dana (White) said at the press conference, will put us in or near the top five of the world.”
Stefan Struve came into the UFC, promising a change in the traditions but he lost his UFC debut fight at UFC 95 against Junior dos Santos. It was a disappointment for him and for his fans to see him lost in his very first fight.
However, he made a mark to win the second the fight at UFC 99 against Denis Stojnic. The fight was an epic one. Struve sustained a huge cut from Stjonic in the first round. He bled badly yet made sure to submit Stonjic via rear naked choke in the second
round.
He then moved on to fight undefeated fighter Chase Gormley at UFC 104.
As of now, Struve believes he has been underrated but no more. He wants to prove his mettle by taking on some of the best UFC fighters in the division. According to Struve, he has learned enough in the UFC to ensure wins over some big names.
Unfortunately, Struve is yet not being eyed by any major fighter. He is still an undercard fighter and it will take him years to get on the top. The only way he could cut down his journey is by influencing President of the UFC Dana White.
