Stefani Stoeva secures a spot in final round of Indonesia International Challenge – Badminton news
Women’s Singles campaigner Stefani Stoeva of Bulgaria served the notice of her dominance in semi-final round of Prim-A Indonesia International Challenge and ensured her presence in the title match on July 6, 2013.
This 58-minute tussle saw her swinging arms against a native shuttler Maziyyah Nadhir in local badminton arena of Surabaya, Indonesia. The Bulgarian shuttler did not show any sign of bewilderment and wrapped this showdown with a favourable result of 21-19,
18-21 and 21-9.
She laid foundation of her victory in the opening segment and then claimed a splendid triumph by ruling the court in ending game. On the other hand, the Indonesian player could not live up to the expectations and won just second match point.
Stefani started first set of the match with a flurry of power packed strokes and established a decent lead in no time. She relished full benefits of this advantage in next couple of rallies and doubled her total way before the one-minute interval.
At the half time, she was in commanding position with a respectable score on board. However, few careless strokes weakened her grip in third quarter of the set.
The opposing shuttler made every effort to tip the scale in her favour but Stefani managed to reinstate her supremacy when it mattered. She bagged most out of the ending points and placed a winning margin of 21-19.
There was lot of fireworks in second set of the match as both contenders put all they had to achieve their respective goals. Initially, the Bulgarian campaigner looked in strong position but then Maziyyah Nadhir struck hard and changed the scenario.
The Indonesian shuttler finished first half of the set with an impressive total and then levelled the match score by winning this crucial game with 21-18 margin.
Unexpectedly, the decider had nothing to offer the spectators as Stefani made it a one-sided affair completely. She started the beating from very stroke and kept her challenger under control till the last shot was played.
She maintained a significant difference on points table and registered an overwhelming figure of 21-9. With this win, Stefani also qualified for the title match of Indonesia International Challenge.
