Stefania Croce leading Turkish Airlines Ladies Open
Italian golfer, Stefania Croce, is leading the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open after she posted a three under par seventy in the opening round.
Playing at the National Golf Club in Belek, Antalya, the 1992 Ford Classic Champion, really played well in the opening round.
The player started on the back nine and really came in control as she made a birdie on the par 5 12th hole. Making another birdie on the eighteenth hole, the player made the turn at two under.
The talented lady’s last nine were all the more amazing. The player made a birdie on the par four third hole, when a bogey on the fifth hole broke Croce’s momentum.
However, the player finished the day with another birdie on the ninth hole to be on top of the leader board.
“I trusted my game", said Croce. "I think course management and being positive on every hole was the key. It was a little tiring because of the wind and I was always thinking, Where do I want to put the ball from the tee and where do I want to put the ball on the green? Because the greens are fast”.
The player is one shot ahead of Australian player Sarah Kemp and Tani Elosegui. Kemp also played well as she knew her way around the greens and also the difficult fairways. At one point and time in the sunny morning, Kemp was leading at two under with four birdies and two bogeys.
Her front nine holes were really amazing as Kemp made four birdies and one bogey. She said that the start was slow and the bogey on the fifteenth hole really brought her down. Still, Kemp is

optimistic about the tournament as there are three more rounds remaining.
Elosegui, who won the 2009 ABN AMRO Ladies Open, isn’t that far off from the leader. The player made five birdies and three bogeys to be at two under par 71. All in all, the player was happy with two seven-foot birdie putts and her overall performance.
