The Atalanta manager has dismissed any rumours that he will be taking over Walter Mazzarri as the next coach of the Partenopei, stating his content at Atalanta.
Atalanta have had an extremely impressive league campaign, after promoting from the Serie B last season. Their success has gone relatively unnoticed as more coverage has
been given to Vincenzo Montella’s Catania, who are also having a great season.

Atalanta had been docked six points at the start of the season after they were adjudged guilty of being involved in match fixing scandals. Their ascent into the top half
of the table seems even more impressive when looking at the odds stacked against Colantuono’s men.

The Orobici have caused many upsets in the Lega as Roma became one of their victims with an emphatic victory by Atalanta of 4-1 against the Giallorossi. On matchday 32 fixture
of the Serie A, the Orobici secured their first away victory over the Partenopei. Victory against the Azzurri meant that Colantuono has helped Atalanta amass 40 points in the League.

This was the third consecutive defeat for Walter Mazzarri and speculation is rife of the dismissal of the Italian, and Aurelio De Laurentiis has been looking for alternatives
to Mazzarri. Despite his name being touted as one of the possibilities for De Laurentiis, the Atalanta head coach has distanced himself from any such moves, stating his commitment to the Orobici cause. He also mentioned that Napoli were not at fault in the
defeat, and commented:
“I extended my contract for another year with
Atalanta because I believe that this team will compete for goals more important than League safety. I don’t judge http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, but yesterday it was not easy to play against
Atalanta. We played a great game, we gave away little and we countered well. Napoli have also made a few mistakes, but we still did well.”
He further went on to state that he is eager to make sure that Atalanta reach great heights, and mentioned:
“Bergamo is my ideal setting, I’m happy here so I will continue my adventure with
Atalanta.”
Speculation is escalating on the dismissal of Mazzarri, even though he has led them to the Coppa Italia final this campaign.
