Stefano Domenicali remains tight-lipped over the next contract of Felipe Massa – Formula 1 news
Team principal of Ferrari, Stefani Domenicali, remains tight-lipped over the new contract of Felipe Massa with Ferrari for the next 2013 season because he believes that contract related matters are company’s internal issues and will only be disclosed at
the right time.
Massa has been pushing hard since the last few races to achieve impressive results in the remainder of the season so that he may attract the Scarlet team for the next 2013 contract.
In the Singapore Grand Prix, he made it to the 8th position adding 4 to his championship points. He has been warned earlier by the team to improve results if he wants to stay in the team.
The team principal did not drop any hint related to the time of signing contract with Ferrari driver and said, “I don't know, I'll leave you with this question mark.”
Furthermore, he told that managing team and drivers in Ferrari is his responsibility and such concerns are dealt internally and they prefer not to disclose it until it is finalised by the team.
“There are no limits in the regulations, as you know. This is the fundamental thing for me: management of drivers - like players - is done internally. It's not important to communicate outside. So, we'll communicate to you as soon as there are things to
say, but not before then,” he added.
The biggest concern of Ferrari currently is to introduce upgrades to their car because the championship leader has been unable to win any race after the German Grand Prix, until now. Although he holds a lead of 29 points over the runner up Sebastian Vettel
but still the team wants to improve their results in the remainder of the season.
Ferrari has been able to generate impressive results in the drivers’ championship but they have not been able to prove their strength in constructors’ championship because Massa has only been able to attain 51 points in the championship until the Singapore
GP.
To attain improved results in the constructors’ championship Massa has been warned that he has to perform convincingly for the next 2013 contract.
