Stefano Okaka did not reject a contract extension, confirms the agent: Serie A news
The agent of A.S Roma striker, Stefano Okaka, has rejected claims of his client denying an extension to his existing contract with the Giallorossi.
Okaka has been linked with a move away from Stadio Olimpico Rome throughout the summer despite getting first-team assurances from Sporting Director, Walter Sabatini. The 22-year-old has only one year left on his existing contract
with the Giallorossi and the agent is hopeful that the matter will be resolved in the next few days.
The agent revealed that he will hold talks with Sabatini in the next few days and is hoping to agree on a deal. The former Fulham star has only one year left on his existing contract and is in desperate need of a new contract.
Talking to the reporters the agent said, "The news of Okaka rejecting a new deal with Roma is not true. There was no contract refusal and I will be speaking with Sabatini soon to discuss the player's future. If http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 want him then
we will try to find the best solution so he stays. If not then we will see. He is liked by other Italian clubs."
Bundesliga side, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879, have reportedly had a bid rejected for the Italian this summer and are still interested in signing the striker.
Okaka emerged from the youth ranks of A.S Roma in 2005 after showing early promise; he has constantly been loaned out to several sides. The young attacker has spent loan spells with Modena, Brescia, Fulham and Bari in the last
four seasons respectively.
Okaka managed to make only 10 appearances for the last season’s bottom placed Serie A side, Bari, and scored two goals too.
It seems like new manager, Luis Enrique, has not considered the striker in his plans for the upcoming campaign, as he is looking to add two new strikers before the summer transfer window shuts. The manager has already signed Bojan
Krkic and is definitely in the market for a replacement of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mirko-Vucinic-c26024.
