Stefano Tacconi hails Juventus as strong Scudetto contenders – Serie A Update
Former Juventus glove-man, Stefano Tacconi, is confident about the Bianconeri future and believes that they will be able to challenge the top teams for the Scudetto.
The Lady Killers have made a great start to the 2011/12 season and are looking strong contenders for the Serie A title this term.
Juve had been going through a tough period in recent times in the top flight and finished seventh in the last two campaigns. This left them out of European competitions for two consecutive seasons.
However, after successfully revamping the squad, Juve have reappeared as a major force in Serie A and lead the league charts after first 6 games of the 2011/12 season.
Tacconi was recently talking to TuttoJuve, where he expressed his feelings about the ongoing term. The goalkeeper tagged the current squad worthy of keeping the legacy intact.
“At last Juventus are trying to construct a squad worthy of their glorious past. The squad is finally turning into a team and the results which they have achieved so far demonstrates as much. New boss Antonio Conte is the principal architect behind this.”
He said.
Tacconi believes that Conte is the perfect man to lead Juve. He said in Conte’ praise:
“He’s worked very hard and you have to admit that Conte is the right man for the Juventus bench. I don’t have a crystal ball, but I’m convinced that the Bianconeri will battle until the very end for the top places in the League. Some of the other teams are
in trouble right now.”
Juve have an advantage over the elite of Serie A, as most of the big names are competing in the UEFA Champions League. Clubs like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 are fighting on multiple fronts, and that gives La Vecchia Signora the opportunity to give
undivided attention to the league.
