Stent surgery, for the veins around my brain?

I am due to have stent surgery for veins around my brain, and i was wondering what recovery is like, and how long i would expect to stay in the hospital ? Im 15, im not sure if my age influences anything?

  1. Your brain doesn't have pain receptors like other parts of your body, so I would venture that it will not be too painful other than the incision site(s) and you should recover quickly. Being young usually means a quicker recovery. Good luck and I pray that all goes well for you and that you have a quick recovery.


  2. Gosh! I'm sorry you've got to go through that.

    My sil had to have a stent put in the main vein that her leg veins feed into to stop a small clot from breaking off and going to the lungs or heart. She's been going through chemo for leukemia. It was a little sore for her but not too bad. I figure since it's around your brain it might be more painful and take a bit longer in the hospital. I'll pray for you.

    I was thinking that you might get more help by finding a site that has others going through what you are specifically dealing with. For example, my sil went to the Leukemia site and talked to others going through it. They would know better. Just a thought.
