Stentorian likely to win close battle in Murfitts Industries Novices´ Handicap Hurdle
A tough competition is on the cards in the Murfitts Industries Novices´ Handicap Hurdle at Fakenham in England on Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Most of the runners have been struggling for consistency, which means that everyone will be under pressure including
the punters, who will be the ones risking their money at the end of the day.
A total of seven stallions will enter the class-4 contest, which is scheduled to kick off at 14:30 GMT. They will have to cover an overall distance of 2 miles, which will test their endurance.
Luckily for them, the weather has been dry at Fakenham, thus the going has remained good. The organisers will be hoping the conditions do not chance much, so that the spectators can witness a clean race.
All of the participants will also be eagerly awaiting the start of action, as they will get a chance to win a cash prize of £3,249 in the end.
Looking at the performances of all the runners, it seems very difficult to judge whether who will finish on top of the table in the end. It could be anyone’s game and the punters will have to place their bets very carefully.
According to the bookmakers, Stentorian will be in a very good position to claim a victory in the race. He has got a poor strike rate, but runs well over hurdles, which will give him some confidence.
However, the Gary Moore’s trainee has never succeeded in this format, which is a touch concerning for his team. He will have to be at his absolute best in order to fight for his maiden victory at Fakenham.
Overall, the four-year-old gelding has participated in five races, winning none of them. Despite that, he cannot be ruled out of contention, as he has secured the runner up spot on a couple of times whereas finished third once.
This clearly indicates that Street Cry’s son cannot be taken lightly at all. He will like the track conditions today and a good start would definitely put him in a position to finish ahead of his rivals.
Joshua Moore will be partnering him in the race today. The pair managed to put together a strong effort last time around and will be looking forward to another solid performance.
