Step-by-step brushing teeth with baking soda?

I'm scared, lol. I don't want to do it wrong. My teeth are not yellow, or gross but I'd like them to be a tad whiter. Could you give me your personal expirience with whitening with baking soda? How long to brush? Is it safe? I'm sixteen.

  1. listen, dont use actual baking soda if u arent sure.  go get some "Arm and Hammer Advanced white with baking soda"

    it really works, i could see a difference after 3 days.

Baking soda will remove stains and whiten your teeth, but it's abrasive, so it will also potentially damage the tooth enamel.  IF you're going to try it, just remember to brush very lightly - think of it as scrubbing a stain off a counter with an abrasive cleaner.  You wouldn't keep scrubbing until you took the finish off the counter..

    A better option is to try a toothpaste formulated with baking soda.  It will work the same way, but you can brush your teeth as usual.
