I'm getting married, I have been with my soon-to-be spouse for over two years. Two years and three months exactly. He has expressed an interest in wanting to adopt my children, whose father is deceased.

Is there a time-frame we would have to wait, after being married, to proceed in the adoption process? This is for the state of Missouri.

Thanks!

  1. I just posted this in another question. do some investigating before you do this. Since 911 there has been a crack down on certain things like passports and voting priveledges. If you allow this adoption to go through your childs records might be sealed, which won't matter in your  case as much because you have an original. but it will still be ammended and the original sealed.

Passports some international travel and I have heard even voting priveledges in arizona all require an original bc.

  2. Just to be on the safe side, I would give the marriage a couple of years to adjust before proceeding further.
